HOW DOES THE DUCTLESS MINI SPLIT HVAC SYSTEM WORK?

Ductless Mini-Split systems work with two separate units. The outdoor unit condenses and compresses the air while the indoor unit is mounted on the wall of your home to blow cool air.

A ductless mini-split system lasts 12-15 years while a central air conditioner lasts about 15-20 years. While the lifespan is slightly shorter, a well-cared for and tuned machine will keep your home comfortable for years to come.

SAVE ON INSTALLATION COSTS

On a small space that doesn’t have an existing ductwork system, installing a mini-split ductless system may cheaper than attempting to install ductwork.

Some apartment buildings, office buildings, or other small multi-family homes may have difficulty installing ductwork for a traditional central air conditioning system. Whereas, a small ductless unit can be installed quickly and easily without needing to damage or replace walls or ceilings.

SAVE ON COOLING COSTS

Mini-split ductless units are extremely efficient at heating and cooling small spaces. A duct system can lose 30% of its energy through the ducts meaning you pay more to heat or cool a room. Since mini-split systems don’t use ducts, there is less opportunity for energy loss, which saves you money.

Additionally, since a single mini-split unit only heats or cools one room at a time, you can adjust the temperature to meet the needs of the room. You can save money and energy by only heating (or cooling) occupied rooms.

PROTECT YOUR HOME

Lastly, window heating and cooling units require that your window is left open at all times. This leaves your home susceptible to intruders and pests. With a mini-split system, the unit is located inside the home with only a small hole in the wall, which protects your home from pests and intruders.
